Russia has changed its tactics against Ukrainian drones, ISW reports
The Russian Black Sea Fleet utilized a missile drone to eliminate a Ukrainian naval drone. This may indicate the development of new methods to combat Ukrainian maritime drones in the Black Sea.
This assumption was made in the daily report by analysts from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
"On February 1, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the Russian Black Sea Fleet destroyed a Ukrainian naval drone using the strike drone Kronstadt Orion. According to Russian 'war correspondents', the drone was launched from an unidentified naval vessel, which likely marks the first documented instance of a Russian ship being used to launch such strike drones," the publication states.
The report notes that Russian 'war correspondents' are also urging Russian authorities to increase the production of weapons similar to the X-UAV missiles (TKB-1030).
"Ukrainian forces have demonstrated the capability to shoot down operational Russian Mi-8 helicopters over the Black Sea using missiles launched from the Magura V5 strike maritime drones. Meanwhile, the strike by the Russian Black Sea Fleet on February 1 indicates that Russian forces have developed a new method to attempt to neutralize this tactical adaptation of Ukrainian maritime drones," analysts from ISW concluded.
