The Russian Federation used missiles with a nuclear charge simulator to strike Ukraine, according to Defense Express
During a combined attack on Ukraine on January 15, 2025, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation employed Kh-55SM cruise missiles, which are standard carriers of nuclear warheads.
This was reported by Defense Express.
These missiles, along with Kh-555, were launched from a Tu-95MS in the launch area of the Volgograd region.
The purpose of using these missiles, which carry only a metallic "dummy," is to confuse Ukrainian air defense forces. They were deployed as decoys.
The missile itself differs from the standard Kh-55 by having conformal fuel tanks, which extend its range to 3,500 km.
