Putin expressed a desire to meet with Trump
Vladimir Putin has expressed his wish to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump. This was reported by Interfax on Friday, January 24, as conveyed by Korrespondent. "It would probably be better for us to meet, based on the realities of today, and to have a calm discussion on all the topics of interest for both the U.S. and Russia. We are ready," he stated. Putin emphasized that the possibility of such a meeting "primarily depends on the decisions and choices of the current American administration." "We see the current president's statements about his willingness to work together, and we are always open to that," the Russian leader noted, adding that he had "businesslike, pragmatic, and trusting relations" with Trump. Nevertheless, Putin once again lied about the alleged impossibility of negotiations with Ukraine regarding the end of the war due to the relevant law. "But as long as this decree is not revoked, it is quite challenging to discuss the initiation and, most importantly, the proper conclusion of these negotiations. Some preliminary outlines can certainly be made, but discussing serious negotiations under the Ukrainian side's ban on these talks is quite difficult," he said.
