Why the fountain in Mykolaiv's Seryi Square is not operational

In Mykolaiv, the fountain located in Seryi Square near the Mykolaiv City Council has not been functioning since last year. The head of the Housing and Communal Services Department, Dmytro Bezdolny, explained the reasons behind this.

He made these statements during a briefing held on Friday, January 17.

According to him, there are currently no specialists available who can configure and maintain the software necessary for the fountain's operation. He emphasized that the fountain is technically functional, but the challenge lies in its complex management. Therefore, the fountain in Seryi Square will only start working once specialists capable of configuring it are found. Dmytro Bezdolny stated that he cannot provide specific timelines for when the fountain will be operational, as he is uncertain when they will find the necessary specialists.

- There is equipment that was dismantled back in 2022. There is an issue with the software because the specialists who supported and updated it are currently – let's say – unavailable. So we will see how this season goes. If we manage to find new specialists who can set up the quite complex software and configure it – the fountain will work. In other words, its technical setup is currently complete. The only problem is with the software. We hope that the fountain will start operating in the spring, and then we will see, - said the head of the Housing and Communal Services Department.
