As a result of drone debris falling, a tank containing vegetable oil at an agro-industrial enterprise was damaged on the night of December 28. There was an oil leak onto the surrounding area, which then entered the Southern Bug River.
On Thursday, January 2, the mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Senkevych, reported.
“To mitigate the consequences, sorbent booms have been allocated from Mykolaiv's material reserve, which our specialists from the 10th platoon of the State Emergency Service have locally installed at the pollution sites in the water area.
For all these days, specialists have been pumping out the oil. So far, 25 tons have been pumped out. The work continues,” – wrote the city mayor.
Experts note that there is no significant negative impact on the environment, as the oil is of organic origin.
The specific enterprise affected was not clarified by Senkevych. However, according to the editorial team of “Novyny-N”, it pertains to the oil processing complex “Ekotrans,” located in Namyv.
