Residents of Mykolaiv have been urged to refrain from swimming in water bodies on Epiphany
On Monday, January 6, Ukraine celebrates the holiday of Epiphany. In this context, the Mykolaiv City Council has called on residents to avoid the ritual of diving into the water on this day.
This information is reported by the Department of Emergency Situations and Civil Protection of the Mykolaiv City Council.
“In the conditions of martial law, it is essential to remember and consider the potential dangers in water bodies, as well as to be aware of any restrictions on their visitation.
Given that the water areas of the rivers in Mykolaiv have not been checked for explosive objects, the Department of Emergency Situations and Civil Protection of the Mykolaiv City Council recommends abstaining from conducting Epiphany celebrations in the city's water bodies,” they stated.
Additionally, the city administration reminded that according to the decision of the Executive Committee of the Mykolaiv City Council dated June 2, 2022, No. 348 “On the prohibition of the operation of public recreation areas on the water bodies of the city,” during the period of martial law, the operation of beaches, public recreation areas in the coastal protective zones of water bodies, the use of floating means, the installation of water attractions, as well as areas for water sports and fitness activities is prohibited.
