NATO will coordinate military assistance to Ukraine instead of the U.S., - Reuters
NATO is taking over the coordination of military aid to Ukraine from the United States. This was planned, but there has been a delay of several months.
This information is reported by Reuters citing sources.
Diplomats note that the transfer of aid to Ukraine may be limited, considering that the U.S. under the new administration of elected President Donald Trump may reduce its contributions — which represent a significant portion of all aid packages.
The headquarters of the new NATO mission in Ukraine, called "NATO Support and Training for Ukraine" (NSATU), located at the U.S. Clay Kaserne base in Wiesbaden, Germany, is already operational. However, the reasons for the delay in its activities have not been publicly disclosed.
The total staff of NSATU will be around 700 people, including military personnel stationed at NATO's SHAPE headquarters in Belgium and logistics centers in Poland and Romania.
