How residents of Mykolaiv are spending Zelensky's thousand hryvnias (video)
As of January 4, 2025, more than 50% of the residents of Mykolaiv Oblast have registered through "Ukrposhta" to receive the thousand hryvnias. This financial aid is part of the state program "Winter eSupport."
This was reported by the director for the development of the Mykolaiv and Kherson regions at JSC "Ukrposhta," Volodymyr Ocheretniuk, as conveyed by Suspilne.
According to him, urban residents primarily use the funds to pay for utilities, while those in rural areas purchase goods through the "National Cashback" program.
"The overall distribution structure is as follows: pensioners by age, individuals with first and second group disabilities who received pensions and social payments through "Ukrposhta." Clients who applied for this assistance through "Diia" can also use it at "Ukrposhta" branches," says the development director.
Volodymyr Ocheretniuk explains that the thousand hryvnias from "Winter eSupport" can be spent in the following ways:
Mykolaiv resident Yekaterina has already received a thousand hryvnias through the state program "Winter eSupport." A postal worker from "Ukrposhta" assisted her in submitting the application via "Diia."
"We (my husband and I) came to "Ukrposhta," paid all our utility bills. This thousand has been quite useful and significant for us, as they say. We paid for electricity, "Naftogaz," heating supply, and intercom," Yekaterina shares.
Local resident Svitlana mentions that she hasn't received the thousand yet, as she finds the application process too lengthy. However, she plans to utilize the program to at least cover her utility bills.
Iryna from Mykolaiv submitted her application around late December 2024 and received the thousand hryvnias by early January.
"The money came to me and my husband very quickly. We spent it on utility services," Iryna states.
Mykolaiv resident Vitaliy also applied, but has not received the funds yet. He intends to use them to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Local resident Valentina also submitted an application for a thousand hryvnias for herself and her child.
"We received it literally after ten days. I spent it on utility services, specifically for heating and water supply," Valentina explains.
Applications for "Winter eSupport" can be submitted until February 28, 2025, and the funds must be used by December 31, 2025, according to the website of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.
