“Mobilization cannot be negative”: Senkevich spoke about the shortage of drivers in the city
The mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Senkevich, stated that mobilization is inevitable and necessary, which is why they are currently seeking individuals for the positions of trolleybus and bus drivers who are not subject to mobilization.
He mentioned this during a broadcast of the program “Novini Pryazov’ya”.
According to Oleksandr Senkevich, training for trolleybus and bus drivers is currently underway, with a preference given to individuals who are not subject to mobilization.
- You see, mobilization as a phenomenon cannot be negative. It ensures the security of the state. It is a necessity. It’s not about deciding to catch someone and send them to war in Laos or some unknown country. Everyone understands that today mobilization is happening because we need to replenish the reserves of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Is this good? No, it is certainly bad, because some of the people who are taken to serve in the war will be injured, and some will die defending our state. But this is inevitable; as long as there is war, mobilization will continue. Therefore, we have come to the understanding that a certain number of people will be mobilized, so we have prepared and are currently conducting training for drivers, preferring those who are not subject to mobilization – women, youth, older individuals, and so on. This is to meet the basic needs for the functioning of critical infrastructure in the city, as well as for the operation of transport,” said the mayor.
