Contract 18-24: Ministry of Defense Reports on "Surge of Interest"

In Ukraine, the Contract 18-24 program is already in effect, allowing citizens aged 18 to 24 to sign a voluntary one-year contract and join the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Currently, there is a notable surge of interest.

This was stated on Wednesday, February 12, during a telethon by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Defense, Dmitry Lazutkin.

He explained how the reward of 1 million hryvnias will be disbursed. Those who sign such a contract will immediately receive 200,000 hryvnias. The next payment will occur after completing basic military training – 300,000 hryvnias. The final portion – 500,000 hryvnias – will be provided when the contract is nearing its end, on the day of removal from the personnel lists of the military unit.

"This is in addition to the salary and extra pay if they are involved in combat missions. It is expected that these individuals will spend about six months carrying out combat tasks on the frontline," - Lazutkin explained.

He emphasized that the Ministry of Defense is counting on a genuine replenishment of the troops and strengthening of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"And right now, during this initial period, which is still ongoing, we can already see that there is interest. There is a notable surge of interest," - he stated.

Recently, it became known that the Ministry of Defense has launched the voluntary Contract 18-24. It offers significant financial rewards, professional combat training according to NATO standards, and substantial social guarantees.

Starting today, applications for the voluntary one-year Contract 18-24 can be submitted via the updated version of the Reserve+ app.
