China supports Trump's desire to end the war in Ukraine
China has backed U.S. President Donald Trump's efforts to resolve the Ukrainian crisis.
This was announced at a briefing by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning.
"We are pleased to see all parties playing a constructive role and creating conditions for de-escalation and political resolution of the crisis. China will continue to promote peaceful negotiations and is ready to maintain communication with other parties," the Chinese Foreign Ministry representative stated.
In response to a question about whether Chinese President Xi Jinping discussed the situation in Ukraine with Trump, Mao Ning emphasized: "China will remain committed to advancing peaceful negotiations, and we are prepared to keep in touch with all parties."
She also highlighted that there are significant common interests and prospects for cooperation between China and the U.S., which creates opportunities for enhancing dialogue and consultations.
