Recently, Mykolaiv received humanitarian aid in the form of heaters from the Solidarity charitable foundation and Leroy Merlin Ukraine. Following the latest attack by the Russian army on the Mykolaiv CHP, which left around 100,000 people without heating in -10-degree temperatures, the charitable foundation provided support to Mykolaiv and its residents, reports the press service of the Mykolaiv City Council.
The donors delivered 104 Japanese Zibro heaters to the city, designed to heat spaces ranging from 55 to 120 square meters. The devices operate on liquid fuel but feature an electric ignition powered by batteries. Additionally, 1545 liters of fuel were provided with the heaters.
“After the recent massive attacks on Ukraine, our foundation received several requests from partners – these are government administrations and charitable foundations working in frontline areas. All of them asked for assistance with heating, as the average daily temperature dropped to nearly -10 degrees. Our strategic partner is the Leroy Merlin Ukraine hypermarket chain, thanks to whom we managed to provide assistance in the form of portable heating stoves and fuel for them in a relatively short time,” - commented the head of the Solidarity Foundation, Mathieu-Marie Arden.
The humanitarian aid will be accounted for in the city's material reserve and will be provided as needed to those who require it.
