Russia is gearing up for a lengthy offensive operation that is expected to last between six to nine months. This is evidenced by the decrease in the intensity of combat actions on the front lines.

This was stated by military analyst Alexey Hetman in a comment to the television channel FREEDOM.

"The main reason for the decrease in combat intensity is not the exhaustion of the Russian army, but rather its preparation for possible offensive actions in the spring of this year," Hetman expressed.

According to him, Russian troops are planning to commence their offensive around the end of March to early April. The expert believes this pertains to a prolonged offensive operation.

"They themselves state that they expect it (the offensive) to last from six months to nine months. This means practically for the entire year of 2025. This is despite information regarding potential peace negotiations," says Hetman.

He added that in preparing for the offensive operation, the occupiers are attempting to ready their troops, including those units that have suffered significant losses. Additionally, the Russians aim to accumulate equipment and bring it to a combat-ready state. Despite substantial losses, the invaders will have enough strength to carry out offensive actions.

"To believe that we have defeated them so severely that they are unable to continue combat actions would be a very optimistic exaggeration. They still have over half a million personnel on the front line, and that number has remained nearly unchanged," notes the military expert.
