A 10-year-old boy who died in a fire in the Mykolaiv region was home alone: details of the tragedy
Details have emerged regarding the tragedy that occurred on Friday, January 17, in the village of Berezanka in the Mykolaiv region. As previously reported, a 10-year-old boy lost his life in the fire.
The incident took place around 3:00 PM. The police department No. 8 of the Mykolaiv district received a report about a fire in one of the apartments located on the fourth floor of a building.
Upon arrival, firefighters extinguished the blaze and discovered the body of the homeowner's son in the room. Medical personnel confirmed the child's death. To investigate the circumstances, a detective-operational group from the local police station arrived at the scene.
“The police found out that the 10-year-old boy was in the apartment without any adults. The fire was discovered by his mother when she returned home after a brief absence. Currently, law enforcement is determining the cause of the fire, and relevant examinations will be scheduled soon,” – the police communication department of Mykolaiv region reported.
Police investigators have preliminarily classified the incident under part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, as required by the procedure in such cases.
An investigation is ongoing.
