This is the first visit of the world-renowned countertenor to Ukraine
The German countertenor Andreas Scholl will participate in the Kyiv Baroque Fest baroque music festival.
This was reported by the press service of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine.
Scholl's performance will be the closing concert of the festival, which will take place in the Ukrainian capital from November 14 to 22. During his first visit to Ukraine, the star countertenor will perform works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Antonio Vivaldi, and Georg Philipp Telemann with the Liatoshynskyi Capella under the direction of conductor Natalia Khmilevska.
Andreas Scholl is one of the most celebrated performers of baroque music. He collaborates with leading opera stages around the world and performs at the most prestigious music festivals, including BBC Prom, the Salzburg Festival, and the Bach Festival in Leipzig. Among Scholl's most notable operatic roles are Caesar in "Julius Caesar in Egypt" and Bertarido in Handel's "Rodelinda." He also specializes in performing baroque sacred music, particularly the works of Bach.
The concert will take place on November 22 at 19:00 in the hall of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine.
