The artist has completed the restoration
The sculptural composition featuring the famous book character Little Prince has returned to its usual spot on the capital's Landscape Alley after restoration.
This was reported by the creator of the composition, Kostiantyn Skrytiutskiy, on his social media page.
“The Little Prince — a beloved character not only from the book of the same name but also as a sculpture — is now back on Landscape Alley in Kyiv,” wrote the sculptor.
He added that for two years the mosaic boy needed restoration after his right arm with the sword was repeatedly broken by street vandals.
According to Skrytiutskiy, the return of the boy's sculpture signifies an expression of inner strength, beauty, and the values that the Little Prince represents.
“The most important things cannot be seen with the eyes,” indeed. But sometimes, we need to point out what is most important. The prosthetic arm of the Little Prince serves as a tangible reminder to all of us that losses and traumas may affect our bodies, but it is our choice to remain human despite everything that has happened to us, to others, and to the Little Prince. He has gone through a difficult journey, yet he has remained true to himself: caring, sincere, observant, and wise,” wrote the creator of the stone Little Prince.
It is worth noting, that at the beginning of June this year, unknown individuals in broad daylight dismantled the sculpture "Girl on Pillows" on Landscape Alley in Kyiv.
