The International Student Film Festival "Prologue" is Kicking Off
It was established over 30 years ago at the Film Faculty of the I. K. Karpenko-Kary Theatre, Cinema and Television University. The goal is to promote young Ukrainian cinema and facilitate the exchange of experiences among contemporary film schools worldwide.
The event will take place from November 11 to 16 at 6:00 PM at the House of Cinema, as announced by the university.
The co-organizers include the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine and the National Union of Filmmakers of Ukraine.
This year, the festival will bring together student films created in the creative workshops of Ukrainian and international film schools. Notably, the competition program features works from students in Ukraine, France, Lithuania, Portugal, Scotland, and India. Additionally, there will be non-competitive events including round tables, master classes, presentations of youth organizations, film discussions, project pitching, and more.
The winners of "Prologue" will be selected by a professional jury consisting of director, screenwriter, and producer Valentyn Vasyanovych, head of the Dovzhenko Centre Olena Honcharuk, chairman of the admissions committee of the National Union of Filmmakers Stanislav Suknenko, producer of the Odesa Film Studio Anna Docheva, director Marisya Nikityuk, art director of the Ukrainian Film Academy Alik Shpylyuk, and director Taras Spivak.
