The war film has become the best in Britain, featuring actors from Ivano-Frankivsk.

Franz Biome's short film "Rock, Paper, Scissors" has won the BAFTA award for Best British Short Film.

The short film by Franz Böhme "Rock, Paper, Scissors" has won the BAFTA award for "Best British Short Film."

The film features actors from the Ivan Franko National Academic Drama Theater, including Oleksandr Rudynskyi and Serhii Kalantai, as well as Ukrainian actors Yurii Radianov and Oleksandr Yatsenko.

The 78th BAFTA Awards ceremony took place at the Royal Festival Hall in London’s Southbank Centre.

The film "Rock, Paper, Scissors" tells the story of an 18-year-old boy named Ivan (played by Oleksandr Rudynskyi), whose father is a surgeon. Together, father and son run an improvised hospital at the onset of the full-scale war, saving injured soldiers and civilians. However, news of their shelter reaches the Russian occupiers, prompting Ivan to take up arms to protect his patients and himself.

In addition to "Rock, Paper, Scissors," other films nominated in this category included "Marion," "Milk," "Flowers Stand Silently, Observing," and "Belly Grumbling."

Reminder: the documentary film about three Ukrainian artists from Kharkiv, "Porcelain War," has been nominated for an Oscar.

From open sources: Oleksandr Rudynskyi was born in 1996 in Mykolaiv. After graduating from university in 2018, he was invited to the Ivan Franko National Drama Theater. He also appears in films and series. One of his first roles on the big screen was in the film "11 Children from Morshyn" directed by Arkadii Nepytaliuk.

In 2019, he played the lead role (Nik Maslov) in the TV series "First Swallows" on "New Channel", and in 2020, he starred as the lead (Lesha Smetanin) in the series "First Swallows: Addicted".

In 2024, he appeared in the series by George Clooney titled "Agency."
