The Committee of the National Shevchenko Prize of Ukraine has released the complete list of candidates for the award
The laureates will be announced in March 2025.

“On October 31, the acceptance of accompanying documents and literary-artistic works nominated for the National Shevchenko Prize of Ukraine for 2025 concluded. After processing, the Committee’s Secretariat will compile the final list of literary-artistic works by nominations… The first round of the competition among the nominated works is scheduled to take place in the third decade of November this year,” the message states.
For instance, in the "literature" category, there are 26 candidates. Notably, among the renowned writers, we find the names of Viktor Terena (poetry book "Love and Freedom"); Oleksandr Balabak (novel "Kimono for Butterfly. From the Life of Solomiya Krushelnytska"); Raúl Chílachava (book "Belcanto").
Artists competing for the prestigious award have also been named in the categories of "literary studies and art studies," "journalism and publicism," "musical art," "theatrical art," "cinema art," "visual arts," and "decorative-applied arts."
Reminder: On September 10, 2024, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, approved the Regulations for the National Shevchenko Prize of Ukraine.
The laureate of the National Prize receives a diploma, an honorary badge, and a monetary award, which is determined annually by the President of Ukraine based on the Committee's proposal. Currently, this amount is 160 living wages (approximately 467.2 thousand hryvnias as of 2024).
