The buildings are landmarks of architectural heritage from the 19th-20th centuries
The barracks of the Bessarabian regiment, two buildings of the Jewish hospital, and the wing of the estate on Saksahanskoho Street, 61/17 may soon be added to the List of newly discovered cultural heritage sites in the capital.
This was reported by the Department of Cultural Heritage Protection of the Kyiv City State Administration.
“All these buildings are significant elements of the architectural heritage of the 19th–20th centuries and require protection from damage or destruction,” stated the Department.
At the same time, the Kyiv City State Administration noted that, for instance, part of the Jewish hospital complex already has heritage protection status.
As a reminder, Kyiv residents are urging the city authorities to preserve the foundations of the Kirill Rozumovsky Palace in the city center by establishing a so-called “living history museum” around the remnants of the building.
