In the Pechersk district of Kyiv, near the Oleksandrivska Hospital, the monument to the Russian physiologist Ivan Pavlov has been dismantled
This action was taken in accordance with the decision of the Kyiv City Council dated July 13, 2023, reports Ukrinform.
The dismantled monument is being stored at a designated site for abandoned property. It will later be transferred to the Oleg Antonov State Aviation Museum of Ukraine, where other objects removed from their pedestals are already kept.
Despite Pavlov's contributions to science, his legacy is associated with the fact that in the 1920s, the scientist's research school began conditional-reflex experiments on humans—children and patients. These were cruel experiments that involved homeless children aged 6 to 15 years.
