The Committee of the National Taras Shevchenko Prize of Ukraine has announced the literary and artistic works that will participate in the final round of the competition.
This is stated on the website of the Committee.
Five candidates have been admitted to the third round of the competition in the field of literature: Yuriy Izdrik, poetry book "Collection"; Svitlana Povalyaeva, poetry book "Changeable Cloudiness with Clarifications"; Maryana Savka, poetry book "Forever Tender: 77 Poems of Love and Faith"; Yuriy Tarnavskiy, novel "Warm Polar Nights"; Bohdan Tomenchuk, poetry book "Embroider, Mom, a Bulletproof Vest".
In the nomination "Literary Studies and Art Studies", the competitors are: Valeriy Bitayev, Vladislav Korniyenko, Yuriy Mosenkis, book "Centuries-Old Literary and Artistic Weapons of Ukrainian Victory"; Igor Nabytovych, book "Saga of an Artistic Family: Alexander Fredro, Sofia Sheptytska, Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky".
In the nomination "Journalism and Publicism", the following are contenders for the award: Oleksandr Zinchenko, book "How Ukrainians Destroyed the Empire of Evil"; Pavlo Kazarin, project "War-Time Journalism on 'Ukrainian Truth'".
In the nomination "Musical Art", the main contenders are: Maryan Pyrozhok, Oleksandr Drachuk, Markiyan Turkanik (performers of the band "Pyrih and Batih"), music album "Green"; Bohdana Pivnenko (author of concert programs and performer), Oleksiy Skrypnyk (composer), choral concert "Catharsis", Symphony No. 3 "Halyna" for violin and symphonic orchestra; Oleksandr Shymko (composer), "Viry", a sacred mystery for mixed choir, authentic voices, soprano, and symphonic orchestra based on ancient prayers, biblical and Ukrainian folk texts.
In the nomination "Theatrical Art": Vasyl Vovkun (director). Opera "Lis Mykyta" (music by I. Nebesny, libretto by V. Vovkun, 2020), ballet "Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors" (music by I. Nebesny, libretto by V. Vovkun, 2023), modern ballet "Know Yourself!" (music by D. Danov, libretto by V. Vovkun, 2022), theatrical cantata "Psalms of War" (music by Y. Stankovych, libretto by V. Vovkun, 2023) of the Lviv National Opera. Maksym Holenko (director), Yuliya Zaulichna (set designer), Oleksiy Busko (choreographer), Mark Drobot (actor). The play "Grain Storage" of the Rivne Academic Ukrainian Musical and Dramatic Theater (2022) based on the play by Natalka Vorozhbyt.
In the nomination "Film Art": Oleksandr Sanin (film director, screenwriter), Serhiy Mykhalchuk (cinematographer), Alla Zahaykevych (composer). Feature film "Dovbush".
In the nomination "Visual Arts": Vira Barinova (Kuleba), project "Cry of Silence". Works: "Home. To Mom", "Help", "Kateryna", "The Hireling". Zhanna Kadyrova, personal exhibition "Trajectory of Flights". Mykyta Titov, series of political posters "Path of Freedom". Anatoliy Fedirko, artistic project "Revival of Ukraine" (series of stained glass for the Main Synagogue named after the Marberg Family in Chernivtsi).
In the nomination "Decorative Applied Arts": Oleg Bonykovskyi (master of artistic metal), artistic series "The Stations of the Cross of Ukraine" (2012-2023). Valentyna Karpets-Yermolaieva, Andriy Pikush, Maria Pikush, Natalia Rybak (masters of Petrykivka painting). Artistic project "Petrykivka Painting: In Defense of Identity" (series of artistic works of authentic Petrykivka decorative painting).
