The celebration of the Day of Dignity and Freedom will take place under the slogan “We cannot be defeated! 20 years of the Orange Revolution and 11 years of the Euromaidan”

The National Museum of the Revolution of Dignity, in collaboration with its partners, has presented an event program for the 20th anniversary of the Orange Revolution and the 11th anniversary of the Revolution of Dignity.

They offer exhibitions, thematic tours, public discussions, a series of meetings titled “Evolution of Revolutions,” and lectures. Events will be held to honor the fighters for Ukraine's freedom.

At the Museum of the History of Kyiv, an exhibition titled  “Protest / Architecture. Barricades and Tents: The World and Ukraine” is already underway. The focus is on the specifics of the Ukrainian protest, its characteristics, space, and people.

On November 16, at 15:00, the organizers invite you to a panel discussion at the Museum of the History of Kyiv titled “Protest as a Manifestation of Societal Consciousness,” dedicated to discussing the philosophical, historical, and cultural aspects of protest movements in Ukraine. Participants include philosopher and writer Taras Lyuty, public figure and co-founder of the Publishing House “Komora” Rostyslav Luzhetsky, doctoral student at the Jordan Center of New York University and protest researcher Emma Mateo.

And on November 24, at 15:00,  there will be a panel discussion at this museum titled “Fixing Memory – Encoding History in Space and Objects.” This will be a conversation with representatives from museums and memorials tasked with shaping memory policy in Ukraine. Participants will include the General Director of the National Museum of Holodomor-Genocide Lesya Hasydzhak, co-president of the International Memorial Charitable Foundation “Babyn Yar” Yosyp Zisels, Director of the National Museum of the Revolution of Dignity Ihor Poshyvailo, and military historian and head of the NGO “Center for Military History” Vasyl Pavlov.

On November 21, a documentary photo exhibition about the Orange Revolution titled “Together – Invincible” will open at Independence Square. The exhibition, based on photographs from the archive of the Maidan Museum, will serve as a vivid reminder of the events of the Orange Revolution as the first and significant experience of struggle and victory for the further formation of the Ukrainian nation.

On November 20-21, a scientific forum “Revolution of Dignity: On the Way to History” will be held in a hybrid format (online and offline). The discussion topic will be “Evolution of Protest Movements in Modern Ukraine: Empires, Wars, Identity.” Experts from not only Ukraine but also from universities around the world will be involved in the event.

On November 21, at 10:00, a traditional interfaith prayer will take place near the Ecumenical Church of St. Michael the Archangel at the Alley of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred. Following this, in memory of the fallen defenders of Ukraine, the Bell of Dignity will ring, flowers will be laid at the portraits of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred, and candles will be lit.

On November 22-23, unique artifacts from the Orange Revolution will be displayed at the Ukrainian House. On November 22, at 12:00, there will be a discussion about the significance of the Orange Revolution.

At the information center of the Maidan Museum, a series of discussions titled “Evolution of Revolutions” will be held in honor of the anniversaries.

The Maidan Museum will also conduct a series of tours on Saturdays in November. On November 19, there will be a tour titled “Places of the Revolution of Dignity. Chronicle of Events” (starting at 16:00, gathering at Mykhailivska Square, near the banner with portraits of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred). On November 23, there will be a tour titled “Places of the Revolution of Dignity.
