On March 1st and 2nd, the National Museum of Architecture and Everyday Life in Pirogovo will host the farewell to winter and the welcome of spring.
“Maslenitsa, or Kolodiy, is a traditional and colorful holiday through which Ukrainians have long bid farewell to winter and welcomed spring. It is associated with numerous fascinating folk customs, traditions, and rituals. You will not only be able to see some of them but also participate directly, such as in the ritual of 'kolodkuvannya', the burning of the 'kostrubaty dід', and more,” – invite the staff of the Open-Air Museum.
During the celebration, you will also have the opportunity to purchase creations from folk artisans and taste the main dishes of Maslenitsa – dumplings, pancakes with cheese, and other treats that you can buy and enjoy.
