Two Ukrainian films have been honored with prestigious awards.

Results of the 75th Berlin International Film Festival Announced

At the Berlinale Co-Production Market, Maksym Nakonechnyi's film "The Earth is Flat - I Flew Around and Saw" received a special Eurimages award, while Anastasia Solonevych's film "30 Days of Summer" was granted a cash prize for the development of co-production.

This is reported by the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine.

The top award, the "Golden Bear," was won by the drama "Dreams (Sexual Love)" directed by Norwegian filmmaker Dag Johan Haugerud. The jury's Grand Prix, the "Silver Bear," was awarded to "Blue Path" by Gabriel Mascaro, which tells the story of an elderly woman's journey along the Amazon.

The best documentary film was recognized as "Holding Liya" by Brandon Kramer, which highlights the story of an Israeli hostage during the conflict with Hamas.

It is worth noting that this year, Ukraine was represented in several competitive and non-competitive programs, with the film "Time Tape" by Kateryna Hornostai competing for the main prize. This marks the first time in 28 years that a Ukrainian film has been included in the festival's competitive program.

Two films were presented in the Berlinale Forum Program: "Takeoff Time" (director Vitaliy Mansky) and "When Lightning Strikes Over the Sea" (director Eva Neiman). The Forum Expanded program featured the film "Special Operation" (director Oleksiy Radynskyi).

Media reports indicate that Maksym Nakonechnyi graduated from the Kyiv National University of Theatre, Cinema and Television named after Ivan Karpenko-Karyi. He has participated in various television projects and is a co-founder of the production company "Tabor," which focuses on producing documentaries and feature films, theatrical performances, and social videos.

His directorial work includes several short fiction films. He also produces documentary films. His works have been showcased at film festivals such as "Festival dei Popoli," "Molodist", "Open Night", "Brick" and others. In 2020, he won the "Best Feature Film" award at the "Festival dei Popoli" in Florence.

Anastasia Solonevych graduated from the Department of Film and Television Directing at the Kyiv National University named after Taras Shevchenko in 2021. Since 2017, she has worked in various positions in feature films, series, and advertising. She directed the music video "Kalyna," which won at the International Prague Film Festival in the music video section.
