President Vladimir Zelensky has signed a decree to abolish medical and social expert commissions. This information was reported by the President's Office website.
As stated in the decree, the Cabinet of Ministers is required to develop a plan for the dissolution of medical and social expert commissions by December 31, 2024. This plan will need to be submitted for review to the Verkhovna Rada.
Additionally, within three months, the decisions made by the medical and social expert commissions regarding disability recognition will be reviewed—any unjustified decisions will be reconsidered.
The decree specifies that a plan for the digitization of the processes of the medical and social expert commissions will be created within two weeks. An audit of disability pension payments for government officials will also be conducted within a week.
Furthermore, the mechanism for pension calculations for officials will be revised to enhance the transparency of the system.
