The commander of the UAF battalion operating in the Kupiansk direction stated on January 7 that Ukrainian defenders pushed Russian invaders out of Novomlynsk (north of Kupiansk) and raised the flag in the settlement.

In early December, ISW experts discovered geolocation evidence that the UAF controls the settlement, according to the report.

The UAF battalion commander also noted that rain, fog, and strong winds hinder both Russian and Ukrainian troops from using drones in this area.

The commander added that from January 1 to 7, the UAF repelled 4 Russian mechanized attacks in the Kupiansk direction.

A representative of the UAF operational command "Khortytsia," Major Viktor Trehubov, stated that small groups of Russian occupiers use thermal cloaks at night to establish themselves in wooded areas and sometimes attempt to reach Ukrainian positions under the cover of fog.

A representative of the Ukrainian brigade operating in the Kurakhove direction stated that the enemy has concentrated the largest group of forces here and is constantly replenishing its forward units to maintain the pace of offensive actions.
