A passenger plane from Jeju Air crashed in South Korea. During its landing at the international airport in the city of Muan, located in the southwest of the country, the aircraft went off the runway, collided with a barrier, and exploded, reports Yonhap.
The incident occurred at 9:07 AM local time. The aircraft was on a flight from Bangkok. At the time of the accident, there were 175 passengers and six crew members on board.
Footage circulating online shows the plane speeding into the barrier and subsequently exploding. Rescue operations are ongoing at the site, and the cause of the disaster remains unknown. A total of 179 people are reported missing.

As reported by UNIAN, on December 25, an Azerbaijani passenger plane made an emergency landing in Kazakhstan while en route to the city of Grozny. The aircraft sustained significant damage and caught fire, with 29 people managing to survive.
In Russia, it was announced that an investigation is underway; however, experts agree that the plane with passengers came under fire from Russian air defense.
Preliminary investigations by Azerbaijan Airlines revealed that the aircraft crashed due to "physical and technical external interference."
