In Ukraine, on the morning of February 17, emergency power outage schedules began to be implemented. Ukrainians are urged to consume electricity more responsibly.
The specifics of where emergency schedules have been introduced are detailed by RBK-Ukraine.
According to DTEK, "Ukrenergo" has instructed the implementation of emergency power outage schedules in Kiev and the surrounding area.
Additionally, a warning about possible power outages was sent to Kiev residents through the "Kiev Digital" application.
As clarified by DTEK, following orders from "Ukrenergo," emergency outages are being applied in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
By the directive of NEC "Ukrenergo," emergency outage schedules have been introduced in the Sumy region starting from 08:30.
"Currently, emergency schedules are in effect for the 1st and 2nd consumer groups," the message from "Sumyoblenergo" states.
Information about emergency outages has been reported by "Kirovohradoblenergo." In the region, emergency power outage schedules will start to take effect from 08:30.
The head of the Cherkasy Regional State Administration, Igor Tribunets, reported that on the orders of NEC "Ukrenergo," partial emergency power outages have been implemented in the region today, February 17.
"The measures taken are aimed at preserving the energy system of Ukraine," - he wrote.
Around 08:50, "Ukrenergo" clarified that emergency power outages have been implemented across Ukraine. The reason is the consequences of Russian attacks on energy facilities.
Currently, industrial consumers and businesses will be disconnected first.
Restrictions for household consumers will only be applied in specific cases (except for emergency situations in regional energy networks).
"The situation in the energy system may change. Please follow the updates on the pages of the distribution system operators (oblenergo)," the message states.
It is worth noting that in recent months, the Russian army has dealt significant blows to Ukraine's energy system. In particular, on November 17, more than 120 missiles and 90 drones were launched, on November 28 attacks caused damage in 14 regions, and on December 13, Russia attacked with 287 aerial assault means - 94 missiles and 193 drones.
Additionally, on December 25, Russian occupiers delivered 13 mass strikes on Ukrainian energy facilities since the beginning of the year.
Also, at the beginning of February, information circulated that power outages might return in Ukraine due to significant cold weather.
However, at that time, "Ukrenergo" denied such claims, stating that a drop in temperature would not lead to significant problems and would not necessitate the implementation of restrictive measures.
Despite this, on Friday, February 7, emergency power outage schedules began to be introduced in Ukraine.
