Israel will continue its strikes on the Gaza Strip. This is due to Hamas failing to meet the conditions of the ceasefire agreement and the release of hostages.
This was stated by IDF spokesman Admiral Daniel Hagari, as reported by RBK-Ukraine referencing Times of Israel.
"As of this morning (January 19, - ed.), Hamas is not fulfilling its obligations and, contrary to the agreement, has not provided Israel with the names of the hostages who are to be released today," he said.
The military official noted that according to the directive from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the ceasefire will not take effect until Hamas meets its obligations.
"The IDF will continue to strike in Gaza until Hamas fulfills its obligations under the agreement," Hagari remarked.
The scheduled start time for the ceasefire, as declared in the Israel-Hamas agreement, has expired. The terrorists have yet to send a list of the three female hostages who are to be released after January 19.
The ceasefire was supposed to take effect at 8:30 AM, but earlier this morning, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the agreement with Hamas would not be implemented if the terrorist group did not adhere to the agreed terms and disclose the names of the three civilian women who are to be exchanged.
Under the terms of the agreement, Hamas was required to provide the names of the hostages at least 24 hours prior to their release.
However, the terrorist group has yet to confirm which three of the 97 hostages are to be released, claiming that the delay in providing the names is allegedly due to "technical reasons".
