According to the politician, he found it amusing when he saw Zelensky's message on social media platform X supporting the protesters. Fico emphasized that this is an "inadequate interference in the internal affairs of the Slovak Republic" by the Ukrainian president.

In addition, Fico stated that the organizers of the protests in Slovakia are deceiving participants, claiming that a third of those involved are supposedly citizens of Ukraine.
Protests in Slovakia - what we know
As reported by UNIAN, on January 24, thousands of people took to the streets in Slovakia to protest against the pro-Russian policies of Prime Minister Robert Fico. Some estimates suggest that around 100,000 people participated nationwide, with 60,000 in the capital, Bratislava.
At the same time, Fico dismissed calls for his resignation and emphasized that the government could change if elections were held. He believes that a group of unknown experts is currently operating in Slovakia, who assisted the protests against the pro-Russian leader in Ukraine in 2014 and in Georgia last year.
